Most kitchens have at least one hard-to-dress window. Whether it be because of its odd size, the direction it is facing, or the proximity to kitchen essentials. Option #1 – The Reliable Roller Shade

A Roller Shade is a wonderful option for kitchen windows. They allow for being in the kitchen at any time of day with their amazing light-filtering capabilities making it very versatile for assessing natural sunlight. The Roller Shade is very slim when used without a cassette headrail and does not require much space making it a very great option for a small window jamb. Another reason the Roller Shade is so versatile is that it blends very nicely with most design styles. Shown: Hunter Douglas Designer Screen Shades in Barista 1% (shown with large square cassette)

Option #2 – The Beautiful Balloon Valance

A Beautiful Balloon Valance is a great way to add some character to your kitchen design. The Balloon Valance has a very timeless elegance and subtle extravagance about it. These valances can be layered with operable shades underneath to filter natural sunlight coming into the kitchen which also provides added privacy to your space. The Balloon Valance can also be operable on its own as a shade if you prefer allowing a little more flexibility. It can also be layered with other top treatments or side panels easily to create a rich and luxurious look. Photo: Thibaut Design

Option #3 – The Cozy Cafe Curtain

The Cozy Cafe Curtain would be a lovely and simple addition to a kitchen design. This window treatment offers semi-privacy to your space without blocking all of the natural light from coming into the kitchen. Cafe Curtains also pair very well with any breakfast nook, offer a very chic look, fit with any design style, and look beautiful when used above the kitchen sink. Photo: Julia Ryan Life + Style

Option #4 – The Simple Shutter

If you are looking for a treatment that will withstand decades of use, you need to try shutters. They are available in multiple trim styles, louver sizes, and various colors and finishes. They can be inside mounted or outside mounted and are easy to clean and maintain. It is best not to DIY a shutter project, as the measurements have to be very precise. Lucky for you, we provide both measuring and installation services for the three shutter lines we have available at Impressive Windows and Interiors. Would you like shutters in a shower? No problem!
