With the last of the leaves falling and the reality of daylight savings around the corner, many of us are reminded of just how unprepared we are for the impending cold weather. There are a few key items you may want to put on your to-do list before mother nature intervenes:
Inspect your windows. Make sure they properly seal and are not leaking air. If needed, purchase insulation kits or better yet, insulating custom window treatments by Hunter Douglas. Now through December 12, 2018, they are having their annual holiday rebate sale!
Clean out your gutters and downspouts. In the Spring you will be SO glad you did.
Bald tires? Most tire companies offer incentives for tires through the end of November. Beat the cold weather rush!
Emergency kits? First aid kits? Make sure your home and autos are prepared.
Check batteries in smoke detectors, flashlights and weather radios. Be ready when inclement weather arrives.
Winterize all small engines in your garage.
Cover those greens outside that are prone to winter burn in open areas. Boxwoods, holly, rhododendron, pine, spruce, yew, arborvitae, cypress and juniper. Need a little help? Look here.
